"ACTRESSES". THE EXHIBITION OF KATE BARRY'S WORKS WILL BE OPENED ON OCTOBER 26
With the support of Kyiv IFF Molodist the photo exhibition of Kate Barry called "Actresses" will be held at Taras Shevchenko National Museum from October 26 to November 14. The exhibition is dedicated to honoring the memory of a talented photographer, who prematurely passed away in December, 2013.
The exhibition is made by Institut Français in cooperation with the son of the photographer - Roman Kermadek and curator, photographer and journalist Aline Arlettaz.
The name of Kate Berry is known throughout Europe, since she collaborated with prestigious magazines, such as Vogue, Elle, Paris Match, Sunday Times Magazine, Madame Figaro, created covers for music albums (Jane Birkin, France Gall, Carla Bruni etc.) and worked for the promotion of well-known brands.
At the exhibition there will be presented photos of famous French actresses, which talented Kate Berry had managed to take in her lifetime. The uniqueness of the photos lies not in their glamour, which we are used to seeing in glossy magazines or gossip columns, but in the temperate mystery and beauty without artificiality.
There's a paradoxical aesthetics unfolding from one portrait to the other, which connects the most modern with the memories of the past, combines original mise en scenes and unexpected scenery with a sensitive expression of deep intimacy, whether real or imaginary.
The photos, which were created through the unique artistic look of Kate Berry, are penetrated by the rethinking history of arts: bizarre baroque mirrors and surrealistic trends like on a beautiful portrait of Elsa Zylberstein in the style of Man Ray...
The exibition was shown in Italy, Canada, China and USA.
